summitFORENSICS investigations services help clients to know who did what where when how and why.
We investigate any alleged or suspected fraud or misconduct. Blind trust is the number one killer of organizations. You must trust after controls. However, there is no effective control when it comes to employee collusion to commit fraud. When your controls fail, you need to respond with confidence. You need forensic experts to look beyond the usual. To study partners and uncover hidden evidence.
People hide evidence using their day to day tools. When fraud is committed, chances are more than two people were involved. That means they communicated. Others do so via mobile phone, email, web or face to face. We first understand what is keeping you up at night, know the issue well and decide on the approach.
You need answers. You deserve to know the truth. During an actual investigation and fact-finding stage, we dig for evidence. We look in all places for explanations, justifications, clues, and interpretations. We don’t settle until we get to the smallest thing that explains it all.
In 2010, we got an NGO that was a victim of anonymous emails. We collected all the evidence which pointed to someone that was difficult to suspect. To even prove to our client, we need to find out the intent. The “why” of the crime. And we finally found it.
In our second final phase, we look for the links, connections, and correlation between the suspicion and the players — suspects; analyzing the sequence of events; explaining the often very intricate and interesting storyline and timeline of the alleged or suspected conduct; and finally examining possibilities available.
The final phase of our work is reporting. We provide two types of reports:
- i). forensics report – a fact-finding report detailing evidence to support each finding in our report with respect to investigations objectives and,
- ii). internal controls report – providing our client with practical and effective means of correction and prevention. The internal controls report provides details risk assessment and highlights areas of high risk, within the limitations of the scope of our investigations.
As they say, the quality of good forensic investigations depends on the degree the suspects contest the findings report.
The quality of our work is guaranteed. Our evidence has often resulted in suspects not contesting it, and rather resigning (if the investigation results in a disciplinary hearing), pleading guilty (regulatory hearings and criminal prosecutions), or settling (civil disputes).
We are the investigators of last resort. May private and public companies are interested in getting to the bottom of the issue come to us for answers. Our investigations are, without a doubt, accurate, complete, and objective.
The advantage of working with Summit Consulting’s forensic services firm with over 12 years of experience is that we know where to look and what to look for to find the truth.
